William replied to Paolo Piuri's discussion Everything slows down during the rendering
"I do not have such slow down. I have a Xeon 6 cores 3,2Ghz , 12Gb Ram with Win-7 [64]. All 12 treads are at 100% CPU when rendering. Depending on what you render, mine eats 4Gb at least, and my exterior very details view  eats up to 11Gb.…"

Materials used in Blocks

Hi folks,Our sailboat model (RH v5)  includes some deck hardware (winches, blocks, etc..).These are organized in multiple files, and organized in several levels of RH.Blocks.Now I'm using nXt full-speed ahead, I did specify  a nXt material for each (sub)part (object).First time, and first assignment of material, I did exported that *.armaterial file in my lib folder. Later object definitions using same material are made by importing the *.armaterial file and assigned it tho the aimed layer. Now…See More

William replied to Craig Savey's discussion Post Effects Curves Question
"Hi Craig, another way is to use RhinoParametrics plug-in to build your model. All objects of the crane is then computed through 1 or 2 params. Pipes length would be constructed indirectly from those params. 100% of our sailboat has…"

William replied to William's discussion Issue Mapping a grained texture on a curved surface (kind a 3d ribon)
"3DM is attached in the zip file. Note that the surfaces's UV is a little weird, so my testing with a material in UV mode is not correct and totally weird."

William replied to William's discussion Wish-list : UV-swap for Decals
"Yes Scott, it's the right dlg-box Decal, and I did manage to orient the decal on the rectangular surface. So this new property suggestion would be for UV mode, which will be more strait forward. Thanks for the follow-up William  Note that…"

Scott Davidson replied to William's discussion Issue Mapping a grained texture on a curved surface (kind a 3d ribon)
"I think you should be able to do this not as a decal, but a Material that is UV mapped.  You need to set the Mapping in Flamingo NXT as UV, then you can set the repeat in the Rhino Mapping dialog as surface and set the tile number. If…"
