Proxies?

Does NXT have a feature similar to vray proxies?  I have several repeating elements in a file that need color and decal changes.  It would be much easier if I could update the block instance and have…Continue

Purchasing NXT and Bit versions

I am submitting a request to my company to purchase a seat of NXT.  Most of the work that we do is in rhino 4 32 bit.  However, sometimes we will have to use a large file that 32 bit will not support…Continue

"Yes.  If you create a block out of the objects, then copy that block around, it will be a proxy.  Rhino will proxy any block that shows up more then 3 times in the model."

Proxies?

Does NXT have a feature similar to vray proxies?  I have several repeating elements in a file that need color and decal changes.  It would be much easier if I could update the block instance and have them all switch (black manager only seems to work with geometry and not materials).  I dont think that the program allows you to select multiple decals at one time, which would also work for me since it is all the same logo.  Any ideas?See More

unwrap tool

I am trying to get a handle on using the unwtrap tool in rhino 5, but something seems to be wrong.  After getting my parts to line up in the UVeditor, the decal appears on the parent parts perfectly.  When I hit 'apply', it renders out as though nothing was there.  Am I missing a step?  In the properties menu it appears as map channel 1 and custom mapping.  However when I assign a material it still has the odd seams that I was hoping to avoid.  Any ideas?See More

Material creation error

My computer started doing this a week ago, and a co-workers just started doing it yesterday.  When making a materiel and saving it, it appears fine as an icon in control panel.  Then going in to edit it, it is a duplicate of an existing material and does not have the properties that I originally applied.  In order to make a new material, I have to save, close and reopen the model.  I have to do this for every material i make.  We are using rhino 4, nxt build 3.1.2012.326 (26-mar-2012).  Has…See More

Image Editor

I loaded up a bunch of files to the farm and am composting them together through the editor.  The file has a lot of open space at the top.  When I put the first together, everything goes well.  The second file gets a large black section at the top.  The third file the black box moves down to the bottom.  Any idea why this is happening?  I've attached the images from the first and second run. Also, I am getting a runtime error when trying to composite a large area (3000 x 4000 roughly).  Any idea…See More
