Flamingo nXt

easy rendering for Rhino in Windows

Hi,

we are getting this error (RPC server is unavailable) when rendering with Flamingo nXt.

The error occurs for a while. After some hours the error disappears and we are able to render again.

Is it a problem with the license and/or in the McNeel servers?

This this something new or has it been happening for while?

Are you running Flamingo nXt on Rhino 4 or Rhino 5?

If you Flamingo nXt obtaining a license from a Zoo server? If so, what version of the Zoo (Zoo 4 or Zoo 5)?

Any additional information you can provide might be helpful.

thanks for your answer.

It has been happening for nearly a month or so. It happens on both Rhino 5 32 and 64 bits. I'll need to check it in Rhino 4. The license is standalone (no Zoo server).

It looks like a problem in the McNeel license checking server, that sometimes is down, because in some cases it can take only a few minutes to work again. But then it should happen to everybody.

Aren't there more users with the same problem?

Flamingo never "hits" any McNeel license checking server. So that certainly is not the problem.

When you get a chance, can you let me know what service release of Rhino 5 you are using?

Sure:

Versión 5 SR6 64-bit
(5.6.31028.18305, 28/10/2013)

Try this:

1.) Close Rhino

2.) With Explorer, navigate to this folder:

%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Common Files\McNeel Shared\License Manager

3.) Run RegRhinoLM4.exe.

Yes, It seems to help.

Though, after some days or weeks the problem comes back.

How often it must be done (running the RegRhinoLM4.exe)? After installing a new Rhino update?

Also, can you explain me a bit why this is happening? And why there aren't other users with this problem? (apparently)
