easy rendering for Rhino in Windows

Is it possible to get Layer support for renders? For example if I use post effects to add isocurves to a render could I get those on a separate layer when I open the file up in Photoshop?

What file format should we save it in? I am not clear if there is any other format other then PSD that supports layers.
I am not sure we have the capability to save in PSD.

I believe Eps can support layers. png might to but I'm not sure.
