NXT and Brazil
Is NXT and Brazil from the same family? Can I use materials from Brazil in NXT?

No, they are not from the same family. You can use the bitmap textures from one material to the next material. But they do not share well.
Flamingo NXT does use normal and specular maps. This allows NXT to use more of the textures used in other products.
