Flamingo nXt

easy rendering for Rhino in Windows

My computer started doing this a week ago, and a co-workers just started doing it yesterday.  When making a materiel and saving it, it appears fine as an icon in control panel.  Then going in to edit it, it is a duplicate of an existing material and does not have the properties that I originally applied.  In order to make a new material, I have to save, close and reopen the model.  I have to do this for every material i make.

We are using rhino 4, nxt build 3.1.2012.326 (26-mar-2012).  Has this been fixed in more recent release?  Also, when purchasing a commercial version, is it an instant download or do you mail a CD?  My procurement dept is holding things up right now, but if the final version will fix the problems Im having, I may find ways around it.

I think we figured this one out.  The problem is not Rhino, it is Flamingo.  We have a fix coming, we hope next week.

The problem is when use the Copy and paste from the clipboard or the Import command.  Once you do this, any materials you make new after that, may be duplicated.  If you save and open the file, the problem is reset and you can continue to work.  There are a few things you can do to avoid the problem:

1) Do not use copy and paste to copy objects within a model.  You the standard copy command.

2) If you import a model or copy and paste objects in from another model, save the model, close and re-open it before you do a lot of material creation.  Once you open it again, there should not be a problem.

We are testing a fix this week for this problem, but it is not ready yet.
